Steel-cut Oats
¼ cup steel-cut oats Raisins Walnuts, chopped Almonds, sliced or ground 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. sugar (optional)
Banana, diced 2 Tbsp. flaxseed meal (ground)
Soak oats overnight in 1 ¼ cup water. (Otherwise, it takes 20 minutes to cook the oats in the morning. If you soak them, it only takes five minutes to cook on the stove-top.
Add raisins, walnuts, almonds, cinnamon, and sugar while oats are cooking (or near end).
Let oats cool a bit. Then add cut-up banana. Top with (2 - 3 tablespoons of) flaxseed meal.

Winter Veggie-Burgoo
Diced sweet potatoes
Diced tomatoes
Diced carrots
Lite salt (50% potassium chloride)
Herbs de Provence (Italian mixture)
Nori (dehydrated seaweed)
Instructions: Put sweet potatoes and carrots in first, and braise in 1/2 inch of boiling water; cover. when nearly cooked, put in tomatoes.
Remove from heat and add in the Herbs and crumbled Nori.

You know what it tasted like because you were at the potluck! You know the person who made it, and they appear trustworthy. So, why not ask for the recipe from them?! Then try it out yourself...and if you don't get the same results as they did, just ask them about it at the next potluck!
